How an Online Retreat Works
A Full Potential Leadership retreat is like what would happen if a conference and a personal retreat had a baby on a space shuttle. You get all the benefits of interesting speakers and workshops without awkward networking in the lunch line or worrying about what shoes to wear. Plus you get space to reflect and think like you would at a personal retreat without committing to days away from your regular life (which is great--don’t get us wrong! But, doing some of that same reflecting and thinking in small doses throughout the year has many powerful benefits!). You still have options to connect with people but the conversations are based around a shared purpose or interest, facilitating more meaningful connections. (An added plus? This is the most eco-friendly retreat you’ll ever attend...no unwanted swag to clutter your closet, no commute to a fancy conference space that will serve too much food that will then get thrown out, and no overflowing bins of disposable coffee cups!).
But wait...won’t it be BORING to be online all day??! Well, yes, it would be if we didn’t set up the day well! But, we are masters of engaging and connecting people online and across time-zones, borders, and business sectors. See what some of our leadership program participants have to say about how very boring we are.
It’s easy. You Sign Up, and then Show Up...meaning be ready to participate fully for maximum impact.

- Before the retreat:
- Receive a choose-your-own-adventure type of guide for how to structure your personal time. This may include activities like a personal quarterly meeting or a whole life assessment; video or audio links to guided meditations;
- Choose what activities you will do and during what hours of your retreat day (before or after live retreat programming)
- Sign up for optional activities
- Day of the retreat:
- Follow your personal time plan
- Log-in to the online retreat space. Sharing your video and audio and is highly encouraged during the workshops (but you can still wear your pajama bottoms!). During speeches and panels you will be put into listen-only mode, except during Q&A sessions where participants will be invited to go on audio/video.
- Wear comfortable clothes. You won’t be sitting the whole time--we encourage you to move around and movement will actually be built into the day.
- Share resources and conversation on the retreat Slack channel
- After the retreat:
- Breathe more deeply as you enter back into your workspace
- Implement a new idea, commitment, or have a bold conversation as a result of your retreat day
- Stay in touch with new connections via Slack (or, if you live near each other, maybe even a meet-up?)
